The Department of Surgery, Division of Urology has an opening for a full-time, Assistant Professor- Pediatric Urology.

Nature of Work:  Pediatric Urologist with the Department of Urology within the Division of Surgery at Children's Hospital Colorado, in collaboration with the Department of Surgery, the University of Colorado School of Medicine, and its Division of Urology. Children’s operates a robust clinical urology service provided by full-time faculty and community urology physicians, as well as mid-level providers. Position will assist in facilitating the growth of Pediatric Urology programs as well as participating in the expansion of a vibrant educational and research component. This is a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor within the inpatient/outpatient medical care services, research and resident training for Urology at Children’s. The candidate will be expected to provide independent clinical services, supervise nurses in providing independent clinical services for patients, conduct research and medically direct residents at the Hospital. These duties will include inpatient and outpatient surgeries and responsibilities. Close collaboration with colleagues, hospital and clinic staff will be necessary.  At minimum, fifty percent of this position will be based in Colorado Springs at Children’s Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs and Outpatient Care at Briargate. 

Professional Field:  Urology in a hospital clinic-based practice

Supervision Received:  This position is supervised by the Urology Division Head.

Supervision Exercised:  This position will supervise nurses, as well as supervise and medically direct residents and fellows in their training for urology.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position has been established at $310,000 to $363,000. 

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: 

  • Medical Degree from an accredited school of medicine
  • Board certified or board eligible in pediatric urology
  • Current license to practice as a physician in the state of Colorado with prescriptive privileges
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Demonstrated proficiency in pediatric urology clinical, educational, and research efforts
  • Ability to communicate clearly as an integral member of a team
Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience in academic medicine
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
