The Public Health Leadership Program is an interdisciplinary program offered by the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health. The program serves as the administrative home to three concentrations in the Gillings Master of Public Health (MPH) degree: Leadership in Practice, Population Health for Clinicians and Placed Based Health. Additionally, our program is involved with and supports the cross-cutting global health MPH concentration and several online graduate certificates. With 260 students, the Public Health Leadership Program is home to the largest number of MPH students in the School. We encourage and provide a supportive environment for educational innovation in online and residential teaching formats. We are looking for a new faculty member to help us train the next generations of public health leaders. Faculty will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in multiple MPH concentrations.
1)Develop and teach on-line and residential graduate-level courses for MPH and other graduate students,
2)Mentor MPH and other graduate students,
3)Participate in scholarly dissemination and engagement activities, and
4)Participate in program, school, university and professional service and community service.
Doctoral degree required (or expected to be conferred by the time of hire). Preferred candidate will have doctoral training in a public health related discipline, or an MPH or other related public health master’s degree and a doctorate degree in a related field.Qualifications and Experience:
We are seeking faculty with content expertise and interest in one or more of the following areas: developing public health leaders, leadership training, implementation and improvement of public health programs, policies and services. The preferred candidate will have leadership experience in public health or health care practice and teaching experience. Candidates with global and domestic expertise are welcomed to apply.
