Position Summary:The Biomedical Research Imaging Center (BRIC) is looking for a Biology/Biochemistry Postdoc that is highly skilled and motivated. The postdoctoral associate will become a key member of a multidisciplinary team and utilize the knowledge in biology to create novel imaging agents and animal models. Basic techniques including cell culture, western blots, tumor inoculation, animal model setup is a must. Previous experience in molecular imaging is a big plus but not required. The applicant will have the opportunity to create new agents which could help patient management eventually.
Within the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the BRIC houses state-of-the-art imaging equipment, including IVIS spectrum, Siemens human 3T Prisma, 7T Magnetom, Bruker animal 9.4T scanner, and so on. The innovative research conducted in the BRIC enables both UNC and the global medical community to gain a better understanding of disease development and progression.
Chapel Hill is located at the renowned research triangle park (RTP) in North Carolina. The cities in the RTP area were constantly ranked as the top 10 place for living in the United States.
PhD in Biology, Biochemistry and/or related field of study
Qualifications and Experience:Previous experience in molecular imaging is a big plus but not required.
