The Caruth Police Institute, a Center of Excellence at the University of North Texas at Dallas, was founded in 2008 to advance the field of policing through research and training. Through innovative partnerships with the City of Dallas, UNT Dallas, and the Meadows Mental Health Policy Institute, CPI provides leadership training to law enforcement personnel throughout the North Texas region, as well as policy analysis, research, and consulting.Position Summary:
•Plan and organize workshops, seminars, and programming in policing, law enforcement, and criminal justice.
•Develop and execute an annual Supporting the First Responder Family Program.
•Develop, coordinate, and create program materials for CPI programs.
•Maintain organized files of all programming on CPI’s online database for internal and faculty use.
•Assist with outreach efforts to develop new client opportunities to expand the growth of the institute. (Ex: Fire department, DFW Airport security, college campuses, DFW school officers.)
•Develop and maintain course instructor lists; seek new instructors as necessary to meet the needs of the institute. Manage faculty engagement and scheduling.
•Manage efforts to sustain faculty (ex: hosting annual faculty appreciation events, providing immediate feedback & evaluations).
•Develop and execute Train the Trainer workshops.
•Develop and monitor program and course survey results.
•Manage alumni relations. Create and maintain a CPI Alumni Association and develop methods for increasing alumni communication (Ex: newsletter, surveys, events).
•Strategize new ways to enhance website content (Ex: Monthly “alumni or faculty spotlight”, testimonials, and educational leadership articles.)
•Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field and four years of professional related experience (in law enforcement and higher education setting); or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5pm with occasional weekends/evenings based on class scheduling.Driving University Vehicle:
