Description:

Reporting to the Associate Director of Campus Operations, the Night Custodial Manager is responsible for delivering quality and reliable custodial services during the overnight custodial shift.

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
•Plans, schedules and directs work assignments to ensure applicable completion of tasks.
•Ensures all event set-up and break-down handled efficiently.
•Manages and responds to emergency calls in a timely manner.
•Monitors attendance, punctuality and performance of 40 union employees.
•Estimates the time, materials, supplies and materials needed to perform custodial operations and support University events.
•Conducts and reports findings of daily inspections of assigned areas for safety, quality of cleanliness and general building conditions.
 

Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree required.
•Minimum of 8 years of experience supervising unionized custodial operations, preferably in a higher education, hotel management or conference center setting required.
•Thorough knowledge of cleaning, disinfecting and safety procedures and experience in the operation of commercial custodial equipment required.
•Knowledge of the proper handling, storage and application of custodial products.
•Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and interact effectively with a broad range of campus guest, students, faculty and staff.
•Prior experience managing diversified responsibilities across multiple campus buildings in a work environment that is subject to changing priorities and time constraints.
•Availability to work University events such as Commencement, occasional weekends/holidays and any weather-related emergencies.
•Possession of a valid NYS driver’s license.
•Experience with Microsoft Office, CAFM and computerized payroll systems is required.
•Ability to physically move around on the grounds of the campus is necessary.
