Position Summary:

The Arkansas State University (A-State) Campus Recreation Athletic Trainer will provide athletic trainer services for the A-State Campus Recreation Department and A-State Club Sports

This position will assist the Director of Campus Recreation and the Executive Director of Student Health and Wellness with health and wellness initiatives and A-State Campus Recreation programs and facilities. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy

Duties & Responsibilities:

    Provide athletic training services for A-State Club Sports participantsAdvise and assist the Executive Director of Student Health and Wellness and the Director of Campus Recreation with all emergency action plans, coordination of C.P.R. certifications for professional staff and part-time student workers, wellness program planning, and facility upkeepAssist with the Red W.O.L.F. Center and intramural facilities' supervision, including some training and supervision of part-time student workersAttend to club sports participants' injuries, arrange for medical treatment, assess the degree of injury, and arrange for transportation to a medical facility, if necessaryEnsures first aid liquids, ice, and other precautionary aids are available for use for A-State Club Sports
  • Performs other duties as assigned

General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

This position reports to the A-State Executive Director of Student Health and Wellness

Minimum Qualifications:

An earned Bachelor's Degree in related field required

Must be certified by the Board of Certification (B.O.C.) and possess or be eligible for athletic training licensure in the State of Arkansas within the first month of employment

Candidates must possess college instructional experience in athletic injury assessment and treatment and collegiate-level athletic training experience
