Supervises construction work, assists in preparing specifications and prepares cost estimates of proposed work.
Plans and advises the Director of feasibility of proposed construction or alternative jobs.
Requisitions supplies for maintenance and repairs in house projects. Training and Experience: Seven years experience in related trades.
Three years experience in supervision.
Ability to complete in-house construction projects on schedule.
Confers with department heads and others to plan and implement work.
Good customer relation skills.
High School Diploma/GED
Must maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License. Testing Requirements:Illustrative Examples of Work: 1. Assist daily in the management of proper care and maintenance of university facilities.
2. Assist daily with the Director of Facilities Management in the supervision, planning, organization and scheduling the work of various craft workers such as HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), repair workers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, groundskeepers', custodians, painters and special environmental health operations.
3. Assist daily with inspecting the work performance of the Facilities Management Department Employees and sub-contracted work.
4. Daily, through direction from the Director of Facilities Management, work with sub-contractors on repairs installations, small construction, remodeling, grounds improvements and maintenance projects.
5. Daily, work directly with custodian operations in the maintaining of clean environmentally safe facilities.
6. Assist with USG required reporting and data collections. (monthly, quarterly and yearly)
7. Assist with after hours and weekend emergency calls involving facility needs. This duty is performed irregularly.
8. Work daily with the School Dude work order data base on a daily basis.
