Job Summary
Effectively teaches 12 hours of undergraduate Electronics Engineering Technology courses per semester from an approved curriculum, with an assigned schedule; includes curriculum development to move the program to the next level, mentoring and advising EET students. Develops externally-funded research/education programs with publishable results; participates in SSU recruitment and retention initiatives. Works closely with students inside and outside of class; maintains required office hours to provide assistance to students individually and in small groups. Collaborates with other faculty and industry to ensure that the curriculum reflects current standards and industry needs.
Responsibilities- Plans, organizes, teaches classes, and incorporates teaching strategies that foster student learning, success, and retention
- Maintains current instruction and discipline-specific knowledge through professional development, seminars, and conferences
- Advises students in matters related to academics, attendance, and behavior
- Collaborates with other faculty and industry to ensure that the curriculum reflects current standards and industry needsWork towards developing a reasearch program with publishable resultsDevelopment of externally funded research/education program
Required Qualifications A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering. Applicants for the position are required to have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and to provide outstanding classroom and laboratory instructions.Preferred Qualifications
- U.S. Industrial experience is desired
- Professional Engineering (PE) license within US
- Experience in ETAC/ABET assessment requirements
- A minimum of 2 years teaching experience from an accredited institution.
