Position Description:
The UCLA School of Dentistry (SOD) seeks a resourceful, organized and personable individual to serve as its Academic Personnel Analyst. There are 5 primary areas of responsibility for the Academic Personnel Analyst: (1) Payroll & Personnel Processing duties; (2) Duties related to Postdoctoral, Post DDS (Residents), faculty recall, and academic administrator and coordinator appointments; (3) Duties related to Searches for Open Academic Positions; (4) Training/Compliance Tracking Duties; and (5) Other Academic Personnel & Administrative Duties.

As part of the Payroll & Personnel Processing duties, the Academic Personnel Analyst is responsible for actions related to payroll, vacation usage, and many other administrative matters related to new hires and/or existing academic employees. As part of the Postdoctoral/Post DDS/Recall/Academic Admin/Coordinator duties, the employee is the lead individual for handling the hiring, employment, and separation of such employees. As part of the Search duties, the Academic Personnel Analyst is responsible for guiding the faculty and search committees conducting searches for open faculty positions. As part of the Training/Compliance Tracking duties, the incumbent is responsible for tracking the required training, ensuring that academic appointees complete all applicable training requirements and reporting non-compliance for such trainings. As part of the miscellaneous duties, the incumbent is responsible for a variety of tasks including administration of faculty open meeting ballots, securing copies of proof of insurance, parking coordinator, supporting the other staff in the Academic Personnel office, and other duties as may arise from time to time.
