Read and interpret contract & award terms, laws, regulations and policies and procedures for compliance
Strong Math and communication skills
Knowledge of financial operations, laws, and terms
Strong computer skills
Ability to design, analyze and prepare financial reports
Ability to prepare complex invoicing
Ability to monitor expenditures and accounts receivable
Skill in researching accounting and sponsored program questions
Skill in prioritizing workload

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in business or accounting
Enterprise administrative system experience
Experience in sponsored program post award administration
State of Texas experience in finance
State of Texas experience at an institution of higher education
Research administration in higher education

Job Description:

Responsible for ensuring the proper recording, auditing, reconciliation, and reporting of financial transactions and to provide forecasts of expenditures and revenues in multiple accounts.

Job Duties:

Prepare complex billing adjustment entries and complex reconciliations for various sponsors. Responsible for activity and reconciliations related to Accounts Receivables; draw downs to Federal Sponsors.
Perform complex financial review and other fiscal procedures, reviews account structures &/or reports, and automated accounting systems. Analyze existing policies and procedures and make recommendations for changes and/or solutions.
Research and prepare information to aid sponsored projects accountant in preparing support documentation for financial reports as needed.
Provide technical assistance to resolve complex accounting problems for the Office of Sponsored Projects staff and others.
Assist internal, state and federal auditors as necessary
Other duties as assigned.
