Job Summary:

  • Eastern Washington University is currently seeking to fill a Custodian 4 – Floating Schedule opening with Custodial Services. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, and a positive leader. This position supervises staff performing Custodial duties in assigned areas. Positions at this level assist with hiring, conduct training, assign and schedule work, conduct performance evaluations on designated employees, and inspect cleanliness of buildings. Conditions of Employment:

  • Successful candidate must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on frequent basis and carry up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis. Successful candidate must be able to pass a pre-placement physical.
  • This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check prior to beginning employment.
  • This position is covered by the Washington Federation of State Employees’ Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

  • One to two years’ experience supervising or directing others in large-scale housekeeping, janitorial, general or building maintenance or custodial work.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Physical ability to do the job.
  • Pervious cleaning or custodial experience
  • Must be able to work different shifts and days
  • Must be able to read, write and understand written documents
  • Basic Microsoft Office experience including Word, Excel and experience using an email system
  • Provide excellent Customer service

-Oversee maintenance of equipment

-Organize and distribute overtime according to union contract
