Reporting to the Assistant Director of Center for Adult Learners and Veterans, the Administrative Support – Intermediate manages a caseload of students receiving GI Bill benefits and performs certification of enrollment to the Veterans Administration (VA). The incumbent will provide individual personalized services on an as-needed basis and serve as an advocate for their caseload by interpreting and explaining the policies and procedures related to receiving VA benefits to prospective and current students. This position also assists in annual state-required VA audits and reporting. The successful candidate will perform monthly budget reconciliation for the department and purchase supplies for the office.Required Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED AND at least 2 years of related office experience, preferably in a Student Services environment, veteran program administration or very similar field; Commitment to a high level of attention to detail; Ability to read and interpret academic/government policy and translate the information to enrolled veterans and prepare for entry into complex computerized information systems. The applicant may need to pass a credit check for budget responsibilities.Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree. Familiarity with Banner Student Information System; Experience using VA-ONCE or working with Veterans; Direct experience with Banner student information system; Experience using GeorgiaFIRST Financials; Knowledge of GI Bill benefits and the documents needed to certify enrollment for US Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense education benefits.Salary:
$17.14/hrly (minimum) to $22.38/hrly (midpoint)Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard. Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
Must be able to travel to attend professional development opportunities and events and visit satellite campuses.
