International Adjunct Faculty In Coumunication (Spanish) - Online

Position Description:

This course will be taught in theSpanish language. The instructor will teach must be able to provide studentswith an understanding of oral communication encountered in various social andprofessional settings, with an emphasis on both theoretical and practicalaspects. In either program, General Education or Liberal Arts elective courses,the instructor will help learners gain an understanding of basic communication skillsas it affects the individual in message construction, interpersonalinteraction, transactional dynamics in group and organizational settings andmulti-cultural settings. Courses include examining the ethics of communication,participation in group and team projects, as well as leading presentations.

Adjunct faculty are professionals with the responsibility of providing a quality learning experience for Indiana Wesleyan University
students. Adjunct faculty report to a program director and perform instruction related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The adjunct faculty member will employ a range of suitable strategies to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, encourage active learning in all students,
maintain proper class related records,promptly assess student coursework, and apprise students of progress. The adjunct faculty member will be articulate, current within his or her discipline, and demonstrate a passion for teaching and learning.

Qualifications:

Preferred: Ph.D. or other doctorate with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline of Communication – as stated in the Title of the Posting.

Required: A master’s degree with minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline of Communication – as stated in the Title of the Posting.

Required: Be able to speak and teach fluently in the Spanish language.

Work Experience: Experience teaching adult learners using an online learning management system is preferred.

Required Skills:

•Demonstrated knowledge of online educational delivery tools

•Demonstrated teaching, training, and presenting abilities with adults

•Demonstrated proficiency in personal computing and in using Microsoft products

•Demonstrated knowledge of adults as unique learners
