Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position SummaryThe Research Affiliate will report to Dr. Laleah Fernandez who leads the College’s collaborative and dynamic Data Analytics team. The Research Affiliate will play a key role in the data team’s student success and inclusion efforts and related grant development activities. This work includes research design, data collection, analysis, accreditation, or external reporting and coordinating grant seeking efforts among faculty. Grant work will focus on synthesizing relevant research and articulating persuasive, inclusive, and theory-informed perspectives on student success.

A strong candidate will have research and expertise in one or more of these areas:

- Grant writing

- Accreditation or policy reporting

- Project management

- Research design and survey data collection

- Statistical knowledge sufficient to analyze large scale secondary student data

A strong candidate also will have experience working with faculty and on team-based projects; excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication; strong organizational skills; and experience coordinating data collection and analysis activities.

Candidates will need to have completed their doctoral studies prior to January 2021 or have a scheduled defense date during spring semester 2021 and be available for up to full-time work starting in January.
