Mitchell Hamline School of Law is a top law school for students seeking a practical legal education. The school offers traditional full and part-time programs as well as the first on-campus/online J.D. program at an ABA-approved law school. Reporting to President and Dean Anthony Niedwiecki, the vice president will be a key member of the president’s executive leadership team as well as serve as a trusted advisor to the president. The vice president will engage with students, faculty, staff, alumni and the broader community to lead the campus in developing a vision and strategy for advancing diversity, equity and inclusion among its constituents and position Mitchell Hamline as a leader around these issues.
Among the vice president's priorities include developing a common and clear vision and plan for diversity, equity and inclusion for the school; partner with other functions so that diversity, equity and inclusion is woven into all aspects of the school; assess and evaluate the impact of current and future diversity and equity efforts; work to develop a diverse, equitable and inclusive-oriented culture across the school; and serve as an ambassador in the community for diversity, equity and inclusion.
The ideal candidate will have a documented history of successfully developing and advancing diversity and inclusion programs coupled with in-depth knowledge of theory and practice serving a diverse group of constituents including students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills and abilities to inspire, influence and build relationships.
