The JCCC Foundation Accountant is responsible for the complete financial records of the Johnson County Community College (JCCC) Foundation. This includes recording and disclosing all financial transactions, maintaining compliance with IRS (Internal Revenue Service) rules and regulations, and maintaining compliance with FASB (Financial Accounting Standards Board) standards in financial reporting. In addition, the Foundation Accountant advises Foundation management and the executive board on matters of policy, IRS compliance, tax and other accounting concerns. The Foundation Accountant provides expert financial guidance and direction as it relates to the Foundations more than 400 funds and endowment.Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business, finance or related field.
• At least five years’ experience in computerized accounting systems.
• In depth knowledge of accounting and financial record keeping best practices and IRS/State reporting requirements
• Ability to complete detail work with accuracy
• Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritizing time and resources to help meet departmental goals
• CPA certification
• Non-profit accounting experience
• Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge and Raiser’s Edge software
