Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:

Under general supervision works with TSU Athletic teams delivering six domains of athletic training (prevent, protect, evaluate, asses, rehabilitate and counsel).

Essential Duties Summary:

•Responsible for completing all necessary requirements of Athletic Training involved in intercollegiate sports.
•Responsible for keeping abreast of current information on NCAA/SWAC rules and bylaws. Ensures that adherence to NCAA operating compliance rules are addressed and carefully monitored.
•Supports medical clearing, medical counseling and completing all medical documentation as well as maintain confidentiality of documentation.
•Assists with budget inventory and required materials to supply and operate the training rooms.
•Assists with taping, bracing, padding and therapeutic modalities of athletic related injuries.
•Assists with the primary and secondary survey or evaluation of all athletic related injuries.
•Distributes protocol of therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation to athletic related injuries as well as providing the necessary insurance paperwork to student-athletes.
•Responsible for maintaining state licensure and national certification by annually completing the necessary continuing educational units (CEU).
•Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

$41,976.00 - $52,470.00

Education:

Master’s degree (M.A. or M.S.) in a related discipline.

Required Licensing/Certification:

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED),
First Aid,
Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

Some stooping, lifting or carrying objects light weight may be required.
Use of video display terminal.
