The Assistant Director of Student Services for Undergraduate Research researches, develops, implements, and assesses initiatives to support and enhance undergraduate research at the University of South Carolina. This position will coordinate recruitment and promotion efforts, conduct workshops and research courses, provide individual student guidance, and assist in program administration and development. Additionally, this position will interface with a variety of constituents, individually and in a group setting: campus partners, academic units, and students.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):
Masters degree in Student Services or related field and 1 year related experience, or bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to interface with a variety of constituents and a diverse population, individually and in a group setting: campus partners, academic units, and undergraduate students. Must have strong skills in: computer use, presentations, organization, problem solving, and exercise good judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
This individual must be able to exercise excellent professional judgement and discretion; have the ability to provide information on various topics and exhibit professionalism in all situations with diverse populations. The ability to take direction, initiate action, and work as a team member are essential.
