FACULTY POSITION

DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY, DIVISION OF THORACIC SURGERY

UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

 

 

The University of Maryland School of Medicine Department of Surgery, Division of Thoracic Surgery, is seeking a board certified/board eligible thoracic surgeon.  The Division treats patients through the entire spectrum of thoracic surgery, including lung transplantation.  Our group defines itself by teamwork, camaraderie, and patient-centric care.  The Division covers multiple hospitals in the region, with each member providing clinical services at more than one site.

Qualifications
Candidates for this position must have specialty training in general thoracic surgery, excellent communication skills, sound clinical judgement, and be technically superior.  The applicant should have a passion for helping patients and the desire/personality to build a busy general thoracic surgical practice.  Advanced minimally invasive skills, particularly robotics, is desirable.  A strong commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration is essential, as is academic interests in discovery science, translational/clinical research, and/or education.
