ECU Student Media is currently seeking a Photographer Apprentice. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in photography that need to expand their portfolio. Student photographers will gain extensive knowledge of media photography and also have the opportunity to work with video projects.

Photographers are responsible for completing visual arts assignments for Pirate Media 1 that have high impact. Altogether, photographers will regularly receive assignments from our newspaper and our magazine division, as well as our advertising agency and radio station as needed. Access to a camera and a passion for photography are a must. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud products is encouraged but not required. Photographers report to the visual arts editor.

This position is paid a semesterly stipend upon completing an unpaid, six-week apprenticeship. This position requires apprentices to keep a minimum of 10 office hours a week and a minimum of 15 office hours as a staff member. Hours are flexible depending on assignments.

Interested applicants must be a student currently enrolled at East Carolina University, possess and maintain a minimum 2.25 GPA and be in good disciplinary and academic standing with ECU.

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.):

-Minimum GPA of 2.25
-Owning your own camera/equipment preferred
