ECU Student Media is currently seeking Designer Apprentices for the Advertising & Marketing Agency.

This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in graphic design careers that need to expand their portfolio. Student designers will gain extensive knowledge of traditional and digital advertising design, multimedia design techniques, promotional campaign execution, as well as newspaper and magazine design.

Designers are responsible for creating design solutions for Pirate Media 1 that have a high visual impact. Graphic Design skills are required for a variety of products and activities, such as designing advertising for local businesses that will be placed in all Pirate Media 1 publications, creating marketing materials to help promote Pirate Media 1 products and events, laying out our newspaper The East Carolinian or one of our four magazines. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud products is a must.

The Designer reports to the Production Manager. This position requires staff members to keep a minimum of 10 and ideally 15 office hours a week. Hours are flexible depending on assignments. Office hours must be scheduled every workday. This position is paid a monthly stipend after a six-week training period.

Interested applicants must be a student currently enrolled at East Carolina University, possess and maintain a minimum 2.25 GPA and be in good disciplinary and academic standing with ECU.

Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.):

-Must possess and maintain a 2.25 GPA and be in good disciplinary and academic standing with ECU.
-Must demonstrate knowledge of design principles and Adobe Creative Cloud products.
-Requires a voluntary status for six weeks.
