HPRI focuses on the assessment and improvement of the quality of health care, especially care for chronic diseases, with an emphasis on understanding and reducing disparities in health and healthcare for racial and ethnic minorities as well as for vulnerable populations. Uses professional community educational program concepts to deliver standardized educational and volunteer educational programs. Applies established procedures and programs to address county program educational needs that are limited in scope. Follows standard practices in analyzing program content and delivery needs and determining effectiveness of current programs. Receives detailed instructions on all assignments. Compensation Range: $16.52 - $25.19 Department Website: https://healthpolicy.uci.edu/ Required: 1 year experience working on a public health related research study involving individual and group-based behavioral/educational interventions for disease management in a clinic setting.Coursework or work experience in related area. Continuing education in related field required. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.Knowledge or experience coordinating student research assistant activities in a community or clinic setting. Organizational skills to develop a project plan, monitor plans against established deadlines, and review and analyze results. Basic effective reading, verbal, written communications and presentation skills to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Fluent proficiency in spoken and written Spanish language Ability to maintain positive interactions with others and work cooperatively. Experience using business software systems in the completion of work assignments; i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint. Preferred: Interest in the community served by UC Irvine Health (A Passion for Caring) Knowledge of specific study protocol, participant recruitment procedures and student Researcher onboarding process. Familiarity with Institutional Review Board-approved human subjects research protocols Personal organization skills to keep track of all task, projects, and relevant action items. Ability to work in challenging environment with frequent interruptions, changing priorities, and multiple deadlines. Experience working in clinic settings. Tact, discretion, and experience in handling confidential information. Special Conditions Required: Must have valid California Driver's License or the ability to obtain one and own transportation to drive to clinic sites.Final candidate subject to background check.
