Essential Job Duties:

The postdoctoral associate will work with Dr. Josh Gray and his group to further the research program of the lab. The candidate is expected to develop independent research activities that complement Dr. Gray’s research program, as well as assist with current projects.

Essential job duties include research related tasks including: writing codes to analyze data, writing manuscripts to document results, and assisting with proposal development.

Department Required Skills:

Applicants must have experience with modern approaches to technical remote sensing, proficiency in at least one common coding language (e.g. R, Python, C, etc.), formal training in statistical methods, and demonstrated experience designing and conducting independent Earth science research. Preferred qualifications include: time-series or signal processing experience, training in Bayesian statistics, and experience working with high performance, distributed computing environments.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate (e.g., M.D., D.V.M., Sc.D.) in appropriate field awarded no more than five (5) years from initial date of postdoctoral appointment.
5 years of graduate-level Earth science research experience preferred.
