Removes old sprinkler systems and recovers usable equipment.

Sets and maintains times on computer and electronic valve clocks; troubleshoots computerized electronic systems, irrigation controllers, solenoid valves, and heads of all types.

Operates tractors, trenches and other equipment needed to install and repair sprinkler lines.

May assist in coordinating with other departments or outside contractors.Qualifications High school diploma, or equivalency, and two years of experience related to the duties of this position.
(Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years.)

Ability to meet the physical requirements as determined by position to include standing, bending, reaching, stooping for long periods of time, and working under all weather conditions.

Knowledge of the practices and the ability to perform underground lawn sprinkler repair and installation techniques, and the design and redesign of irrigation systems.

Knowledge of and ability to safely operate machinery, tools, equipment, and materials used in area of work.

Knowledge of and ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.

Knowledge of landscaping and groundskeeping techniques.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

A valid State of Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain upon hire.Pay Plan This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.Criminal Background Check This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check.
