The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth College of Pharmacy (HSCCP) is inviting applications for a joint Clinical Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Services faculty position in the HSCCP Department of Pharmacotherapy in collaboration with Walmart Pharmacy – Central Clinical Services. This position will teach within the PharmD curriculum at HSCCP and will maintain a practice site at Walmart Central Medication Therapy Management Services located in Carrollton, TX

Position Summary:

Department Overview: The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth College of Pharmacy (HSCCP) is inviting applications for a joint Clinical Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Services faculty position in the HSCCP Department of Pharmacotherapy in collaboration with Walmart Pharmacy – Central Clinical Services. This position will teach within the PharmD curriculum at HSCCP and will maintain a practice site at Walmart Central Medication Therapy Management Services located in Carrollton, TX.

Essential function(s) of this position:
The University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth College of Pharmacy (HSCCP) is inviting applications for a Medication Therapy Management faculty position in the Department of Pharmacotherapy. This individual will serve as a College of Pharmacy faculty member who will enhance the UNTHSC vision and mission, while making meaningful contributions to the profession of pharmacy and the community.
Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

  • Works under the leadership of the Chair to deliver the Pharm.D. curriculum for Professional Years 1 to 4 (P1, P2, P3, and P4) as it relates to the pharmacy practice components of the professional pharmacy education.
  • Works under the leadership of the Chair, to precept P3 students during Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs) and P4 students during Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs).
  • Clinical duties at Walmart Central Medication Therapy Management Services will include comprehensive medication reviews, targeted medication interventions, medication adherence management among other MTM activities and patients care provided remotely from the call center stting (for example via telephone).
    *Residency program director (RPD) for planned (future) collaborative HSCCP/Walmart pharmacy residency program.
  • Engages in scholarly activity that contributes to a culture of academic excellence that advances the practice of pharmacy.
  • Works closely with faculty from other schools/colleges at the UNTHSC and other local universities (e.g., Texas Christian University) to provide interprofessional education that meets the needs of a diverse Texas population.
  • Contributes to the service efforts that enhance the quality of pharmacy education and research in Texas and nationwide.

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:
-Applicants must have graduated with a PharmD from an ACPE accredited pharmacy program with a pharmacy degree and be eligible to practice pharmacy in Texas.
-Completed an ASHP-accredited PGY-1 post graduate residency training program in community pharmacy or pharmacy practice, or possess a minimum of 5 years of clinical community or ambulatory care patient related experience
-At the rank of Assistant Professor, the applicant must have zero to five (0-5) years of academic or clinical experience
-At the rank of Associate Professor, the applicant must have at least five (5) years or more of academic experience

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate may possess the following additional qualifications:
-Completed an ASHP accredited PGY-2 post-graduate training program in Ambulatory Care or a similar specialty or have completed an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency plus a minimum of three years of pharmacy practice experience in a community or ambulatory practice environment
-Board Certified or eligible for Board Certification in Ambulatory Care or Pharmacotherapy

Required License / Registration / Certification:
