Job Description Summary

WAKE FOREST UNIVERSITY’s Writing Program invites applications for one permanent, non-tenure-track Assistant Teaching Professor to join our community of writers and teachers, whose expertise ranges across disciplines and backgrounds. Applicants should be committed to designing and teaching high-quality courses in first-year writing, as well as in our interdisciplinary writing minor.

Job Description:

A Ph.D. in writing studies or related field is preferred, but we welcome applications from professional and scholarly writers across disciplines with experience developing and teaching first-year writing and, ideally, other academic writing courses. Teaching load is 3/3 and consists primarily of writing courses for first-year students (capped at <16). These positions include support for professional development and the opportunity for promotion.
