Primary Function of Organizational Unit :It is the mission of the Department of Internal Medicine, East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine, to provide exemplary medical education/training of physicians in internal medicine at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Additionally, it is the mission of the department to provide model comprehensive primary and consultative subspecialty care to individuals of eastern North Carolina, to advance scientific knowledge through basic and clinical research, and to provide continuing medical education opportunities for physicians in the region.
Job Duties :The Department of Internal Medicine at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine has temporary faculty positions for the various sub-specialties of Internal Medicine.
Sub-specialties of Internal Medicine include: Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, General Medicine, Hematology/Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology, Neurology, Pulmonary, and Rheumatology.
Faculty positions are available at the titles of Clinical Instructor, Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, Teaching Assistant Professor, Teaching Associate Professor, Teaching Professor, Research Assistant Professor, Research Associate Professor and Research Professor.
These part-time, temporary faculty positions may have teaching, clinical, research, and administrative duties.
Position will remain open and applications will remain active until 12/15/2021.
Minimum Education/Experience :Physicians must have a medical degree, MD/DO, from an accredited institution.
Research faculty must have a minimum of a master’s degree for the internal medicine sub-specialty which they want to be considered.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation :Must be able to obtain a North Carolina medical license.
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education :PhD is preferred for Research Faculty.
