The Markey Cancer Center is seeking a Tumor Board Coordinator to provide support to the Medical Director, Practice Manager, Technical Manager, physicians , technicians and nurses related to tumor board and new patient coordination. This position will assist with insurance and billing issues as needed, identify self-pay patients and underinsured patients and ensure appropriate referrals are requested, and maintain multiple databases of information to ensure appropriate and timely follow up for patients.
The Tumor Board Coordinator will also: assure test/procedures are scheduled in an accurate and timely fashion, ensure physicians, technicians and nurses have the resources and information needed to provide quality care, and provide ongoing feedback to multidisciplinary team, Medical Director and Practice Manager regarding clinic/patient flow and offer suggestions for improvement. This position will organize and run disease team conferences, providing the necessary data on patient populations, volumes, and treatment plan time tables, provide coverage in cases of absences of clerical staff, work collaboratively with Medical Director, Practice Manager, physicians, outreach coordinator, technicians, and nursing staff by providing essential information and feedback for development and implementation of the marketing plan for affiliate networks, and promote the Markey Multi-D programs by being accessible and service oriented to physicians and others in our regional referral base as well as identify strengths and weaknesses in the services provided by the Markey programs.Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? :
