Responsibilities This position is responsible for providing planning, programming, design and construction management to support Augusta University (AU) and Augusta University Health System (AUHS). This includes, but is not limited to: education, administrative, research and clinical functions on the campus and for remote facilities.The duties include, but are not limited to:
    Project Oversight: Provide oversight for the programming and design of projects, construction management support, manage and monitor project budgets, contracts, bidding, compliance with applicable codes and day-to-day operational and strategic aspects associated with assigned projects. This is inclusive of developing project cost estimates and schedules for end users in a timely manner, at conceptual states (prior to the completion of architectural drawings and specifications). Identities problems and deficiencies in design and implementation, recommends appropriate solutions. Coordinate Project Design: Coordinate the design of small, routine and large/complex projects including conceptual design, design development and construction documents to ensure satisfactory compliance with campus standards, maintenance needs, operational (workflow) and end user expectations in accordance with Regulatory Codes and guidelines including, but not limited to Board of Regents, Department of Community Health, OSHA, NFPA, SACS and AIA guidelines/codes. Track project status, budgets and schedules and create and present progress reports to leadership. Manage construction progress including ensuring that procedures and materials comply with specifications; observing work in progress and performing physical inspections to assure timeliness, conformance with requirements and acceptable workmanship. Review and approve contractor and consultant invoices in a timely manner ensuring the invoiced amount matches level of effort completed.Project Meetings: Coordinate and assist the contractor in all project meetings (pre-construction project meeting, relocation meetings with other departments. bi-weekly construction project meeting and any break off meetings). Coordinate any relocation that has to happen prior to construction starting. Take part in all coordination between the architect/engineers and contractors with respective Enterprise departments. Attend pre-construction risk assessment, infection control risk assessment and interim life safety measures meeting with contractors every week. Coordinate furniture, fixtures and equipment. Determine delivery dates and installation dates. Protect AU maintainability throughout the design and construction process and coordinate with maintenance department when appropriate.Performs all other project related duties in a cost-effective manner as assigned.
