SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for assisting with the Division I strength and conditioning program at the University of Richmond. The primary responsibility is to develop and coordinate the strength and conditioning programs for assigned sports, as well as provide assistance with strength and conditioning programs for other sports as necessary. Additionally, this position will assist the Assistant AD in the day-to-day operation of the the department by ordering supplies and designing and monitoring the weight room schedules.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams that challenge student-athletes to succeed individually and as a team within the structure of the Department of Athletics.
  • Support and assist the Assistant AD in the development of a strength and conditioning program for other sports as assigned.
  • Oversee condition of existing equipment related to sports performance for assigned sports and make recommendations for the purchase of new equipment.
  • Responsible for ordering supplies and development weight room schedules.
  • Comply with NCAA, conference, and University of Richmond regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of all applicable NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in coaching strength and conditioning is required.
  • Ability to lead and motivate student-athletes is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Immense desire to learn, improve, and expand as a strength and conditioning coach.
  • Strong ability to manage ones time and prioritize tasks as needed.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to manage projects independently.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • More than 2 years of previous experience coaching strength and conditioning at the collegiate level is required
  • A bachelor’s degree is required; master’s degree is preferred.
  • CSCC or CSCS Certifications are required
  • CPR and First Aid certifications are required

WORK HOURS:

  • Full-time, non-exempt position
  • This position is limited term and will expire on 12/31/2021
  • Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; 7.75 hrs./day; 38.75 hrs./week
  • May include early mornings, nights, and weekends
