Position Summary:Gates Biomanufacturing Facility (GBF) located on the University of Colorado – Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking an experienced Senior Scientist. As a part of the Charles C. Gates Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Biology, GBF serves as a development and manufacturing organization for the University of Colorado, UCHealth and Children’s Hospital of Colorado as well as industry-based partners. The Gates Biomanufacturing Facility is dedicated to the development and manufacture of novel biological and cell/gene therapies to support early phase human clinical trials.The Senior Scientist will develop and lead process and/or analytical development and operational activities related to therapeutic protein manufacturing. This is an open rank recruitment that will be filled at the Sr. Professional Research Assistant or Research Associate level depending on the educational and experience level of the selected candidate. Examples of Work Performed:
- Lead Development and Tech-transfer of protein manufacturing processes including experimental design, data analysis and interpretationLead scale-up of protein manufacturing processes to the cGMP suitesLead analytical method development for in-process, release and characterization assaysAuthor and Review Development and Production Reports and CMC sections of INDsLead technical teams to meet project expectations related to timelines, budget, and qualityProvide exceptional communication and customer service to users of the facilityWork in a professional and collaborative manner with coworkers and prospective user
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
- SR PRA: Master’s Degree in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Science or other relevant field. Research Associate: PhD in Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Science or other relevant field.Significant protein-related process, formulation and/or analytical method development experience
- PhD and 5 years of experience in protein process and/or analytical developmentSubject matter expert in multiple process, formulation and/or analytical development areasE. coli based protein process development, including fermentation, refolding and chromatography
