The department of Physics invites applicants for a postdoctoral or more senior position in cosmic microwave background (CMB) research with the Simons Observatory. The Simons Observatory is a world leading collaboration in CMB observation that combines ACT and POLARBEAR/Simons Array teams, undertaking both cutting-edge CMB science and technical development crucial toward the next-generation CMB-S4 experiment. Successful candidates will be involved in the design, construction and execution of the Simons Observatory, and may also pursue roles in the data analysis and preparation of the results for publication. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Physics or Astronomy before the start date of the position. They should have at least one year of relevant research experience as a graduate student or as a postdoc. He/she should have demonstrated ability to work as a part of a collaborative team as well as to work independently. Appointments are for one year, with possibility for renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding.
