The Director, Supplier Diversity is responsible for overseeing the University’s supplier diversity program by increasing, enhancing, and facilitating sourcing and procurement opportunities for diverse suppliers. The Director interacts with and develops/maintains supportive, professional relationships with University employees and professional and community organizations to attract, develop and sustain diverse suppliers.

The Incumbent works collaboratively with UHealth Supply Chain, University Purchasing, Facilities and Real Estate/Construction, Information Technology, Marketing and other functional areas procuring goods and/or services when implementing strategies related to supplier diversity, diversity outreach, employee communications, special events, diversity celebrations and other diversity initiatives. He/she provides leadership to external professional and/or civic organizations to attract, develop and retain diverse suppliers.

  • In conjunction with University Purchasing, UHealth Supply Chain and Facilities, develop annual supplier diversity spend targets.
  • Work in conjunction with the Communications Director/Team to maintain the supplier diversity website page, posting bidding opportunities and highlighting selected diverse vendors.
  • Attend and lead the University’s participation in supplier diversity forums, trade shows and diverse business association meetings.
  • Coordinate with University Purchasing and UHealth Supply Chain teams for participation in networking events.
  • Develop and coordinate monthly supplier diversity reporting the utilization of diverse business enterprises.

Certification and Licensing:

Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity (CPSD) preferred.


Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in procurement/sourcing, and/or supplier diversity are required.
