About This Position
The Clinical and Translational Science Institute at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, has an exciting career opportunity for a Director, Research Operations. The Director of Research Operations will report to the Executive Directors of the University of Miami Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). This role will oversee the CTSI’s Hub Research and Network Capacity Programs and Institute activities related to trial operations, helping to plan, guide, and problem-solve clinical research studies across the University of Miami. S/he will expedite clinical trial implementation by working closely and in alignment with Miami CTSI investigators to disseminate best practices and assure rapid activation and efficient conduct of clinical trials from start to finish. The Director will work with CTSI Hub Research Capacity- Participant & Clinical Interactions and Network Capacity leaders to develop multi-site clinical studies that can be extended across the Trial Innovation Network (TIN) and utilize TIN services. In addition, s/he will support the CTSI Hub Research Capacity program leaders to provide consultations and navigational oversight to help research teams conduct culturally appropriate and effective research with diverse participants across the lifespan, from pediatrics to geriatrics, as well as minority and under-resourced populations. The Director will help support the team responsible for advancing best practices in research and business operations for clinical studies at CTSI and University of Miami, and work with CTSI and University of Miami research leaders to grow infrastructure to participate in multi-site clinical trials.
Bachelor's Degree in a basic science or health administration discipline; Master's Degree preferred. Minimum eight years of relevant experience. Exceptional project management experience ability to oversee and handle multiple projects. Outstanding organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Strong leadership skills, highly collaborative and works well in teams. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to develop strong relationships with investigators and study teams. Proficient in MS Office (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
