General Summary of Position:

The Gage Lab in the Department of Chemistry at University of Massachusetts Lowell is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work on single molecule force experiments involving domains of the muscle protein titin. The researcher’s responsibilities will include: expression and purification of recombinant constructs of regions of interest from titin, preparation of flow cells for magnetic tweezer experiments, conducting single molecule force unfolding studies, analysis of the resulting data, and conducting other experiments as necessary to interpret force experiment results.

The Postdoctoral researcher is expected to have a PhD in Chemistry or Biochemistry . Experience with magnetic tweezers experiments is required. Preference will be given to candidates already in the United States.

The Postdoctoral researcher will work on the project alongside the principal investigator to a) perform major research activities of the research project, b) prepare technical reports, conference presentations and manuscripts for publication based on the results of research activities, and c) develop and write future research proposals.
