Job Description
The Department of Kinesiology in the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Kinesiology in Biomechanics to begin fall 2021. Primary teaching responsibilities will be teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Biomechanics, Kinetic Anatomy, Applied Strength & Conditioning, and/or other classes based upon knowledge and expertise. This position will require teaching, research or creative activity, and service.
Required Qualifications:
- A PhD in Kinesiology or related field. Advanced ABD will be considered; degree must be conferred by the time of appointment.
- A commitment to excellent teaching, committed service, and scholarly productivity.
- Experience and/or training to utilize technology in course delivery (e.g. Blackboard, on-line courses).
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience teaching undergraduate/graduate biomechanics courses,
- A demonstrated pattern of excellent teaching, student mentorship and engagement, committed service, and scholarly productivity,
- An established research agenda in biomechanics,
- Willingness to work collaboratively on research projects and grants,
- Experience with grant writing and success with securing intra/extramural funding, and
- NSCA CSCS certification and/or ACSM Certification.
