Summary of Duties:

The Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of fundraising activities to meet the goals of the Alumni and Development Office within the College of Agricultural Human and Natural Resource Sciences. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: organizing, implementing, and evaluating special events; stewardship of gifts including acknowledgment letters, specialized endowment and campaign reports; performing public relation responsibilities; soliciting gifts and sponsorship from individuals and/or corporations; administering alumni relation programs; fostering alumni and friends relationships; managing annual gift fundraising programs such as Call-a-Coug, direct mail, faculty-staff campaigns, and provide related support functions; representing WSU to internal and external constituents; and performing other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience, which includes six (6) months of full-time experience in marketing, gift solicitation or public contact work with evidence of ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively orally and in writing and organize and execute assignments. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Must possess, or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience in writing proposals.
Experience with managing multiple projects and setting priorities.
Experience with alumni/donor database applications.
Demonstrated experience with donor prospect research and ‘moves management’ systems.
