Position Summary:

UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) continuously seeks applicants that are interested and available to work in Senior Emergency Trauma Technicians roles on temporary assignments at the UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange. We recruit for this position on an on-going basis in order to build a talent pool of potential candidates.

Essential Job Functions:

The Senior Emergency Trauma Technicians aids professional and technical nursing personnel primarily by accomplishing a variety of duties and procedures, which are directly related to patient care.

Primary duties include:

The Senior Trauma Technican is responsible for coordinating and performing a broad range of technical duties supporting the patient care in ED services to facilitate patient flow, including but not limited to: assisting with patient triage; obtaining vital signs and specimens; assisting the physician with the application and removal of casts, splints and wound care; providing support to physicians during patient exams; assisting patients with hygiene, elimination and comfort measures; preparing patients for transport. Will maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, performing quality control and basic troubleshooting of equipment.

Compensation Range:

$22.36 per hour + shift differential when applicable

Required:

Must be able to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

EMT and/or Paramedic license

Minimum 2 years of related experience as an Emergency/Trauma Technician

Preventative Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB) within 30 days of hire

Basic Life Support(Required)

Preferred:

Emergency Medical Technician(Preferred)

Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting

Bilingual skill, either Spanish or Vietnamese to communicate effectively with patients and families.

The majority of our temporary positions are Monday - Friday, 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m., however, we also have occasional part-time, weekend and evening hours available. Comprehensive benefits options are also available for temporary employees, including paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave.

Some temporary assignments may require clearance of health physical or require a valid California Driver's License for driving university vehicles.
