Tracking Code2015 Job DescriptionThe clinical practice assistant (CPA) position is expected to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for CTSI General Clinical Research Unit (GCRU) participants, Principal Investigators, and Study Coordinators. On a per-diem basis, the CPA assists GCRU Registered Nurses with the full spectrum of clinical procedures as per specific study protocols, to include but not limited to: vital signs, height, weight, anthro-measurements, phlebotomy, EKG, urinalysis and urine pregnancy testing, fingers ticks, and maintenance of unit logs. The CPA is also expected to assist in the individual protocol set up, daily coverage of the front desk, assist with Lab coverage and some clerical assistance when necessary. This position will be required to assist in the implementation of COVI 19 studies through the General Clinical Research Unite (GCRU) that are part of the GCRU without walls initiative and require staff to implement studies at Boston Medical Center.
Required SkillsPosting Requirements: This position will be required to provide quality research care to clinical study participants. Will assist clinical staff (including RNs and other members of the study team) with procedures/participants and set up daily. Will be responsible for performing phlebotomy and EKGs. Assist the GCRU lab under the direction of the lab manage, works closely with the Director of Clinical Research Operations on special projects and study specific protocol needs. Convers the front desk as needed and works on special projects and other duties as required.
