Responsibilities This position will assist the manager of the CCRU in the administration and oversight of the clinical unit to include the resolution of immediate personnel issues and clinical emergencies. The duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Review study protocols, primary disease category, and investigational drug information, becoming familiar with all study requirements; communicate and make arrangements with appropriate areas of AU involved in study including radiology, laboratory services, pathology, patient scheduling, etc.; set-up studies according to sponsor requirements and IRB policies and adapt study for changes due to study amendments/extensions
  • Become familiar with inclusion/exclusion criteria; prepare recruitment plan with Principal Investigator (PI); serve as liaison between sources of referral; screen patients and verify informed consent procedures
  • Schedule patient visits, laboratory tests and procedures; dispense investigational drugs per protocol, under the direction of the PI; obtain laboratory samples, vital signs, perform ECGs and assist with physical examinations
  • Assess patient's general health and accurately report all adverse events; notify PI of patient's condition and provide assistance for management of adverse events
  • Assist in maintaining all FDA and sponsor required regulatory documents; complete source documents, case report forms, and other data entry in a timely manner; enter patient information into OnCore
  • Assist in communication with study sponsors, scheduling/coordinating visits to the unit; assist in promoting the CCRU in the region to outside practices to help build and maintain a referral network; attend meetings, perform yearly evaluations, review and approve time/leave requests; provide budgetary information to assist in opening new trials
  • Other duties as assigned
Certifications/License Must possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/BCLS certification Shift/Salary/Benefits Shift: Days/M-F, Work outside of the normal business hours may be required. Pay Grade: 23 Salary: $69,398/Annual - $85,000/Annual Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position Recruitment Period: 10/2/18 - Until Filled Conditions of Employment All candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.
