Excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsCompetency in Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint, EndNote, or willingness to learnStrong work ethic and desire to learnMust be highly motivated and detail-orientedAbility to work independently; prioritize tasks; complete work and meet deadlines; make responsible decisions; maintain confidentialityWillingness and ability to work with research animals Preferred Research background in stem cells and routine experiments (cell culture, immunohistochemistry, western blotting, RNA isolation, real-time PCR, lentivirus production) Responsibilities The duties include, but are not limited to: investigate myogenic progenitors derived from iPSC stem cells and Notch -1 and beneficial effects of HP on vascular cell survival and angiogenic activity of stem cells relevant to human disease using multiple experimental techniques including surgery, cell culture, plasmid amplification, confocal microscopy, flow cytometry, real-time qPCR, western blotting, and histological studies; create heart and vascular injury modeling; measure heart function with echocardiography; participate in project planning and development of research protocols; coordinate and participate in research of scientific literature, summarize findings, and develop new experimental approaches; and other duties as assigned. Shift/Salary This position is supported by grant funds Shift: Days/M-F Pay Grade: R14 Minimum Salary: $38,913/Annual
