Job Information Job ID: 221053Position # 20003554 The Augusta University Health System is seeking a Medical Director/Primary Care Physician for the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home (GWVNH) which is a skilled nursing care and rehabilitation facility, located on its academic campus. The major responsibility of this position is the direction of the clinical services required of a long-term care facility (192 resident capacity) that has an administrative relationship with the academic health center, and an integrated teaching and clinical service relationship with the Department of Family Medicine. The incumbent will have a Medical College of Georgia academic appointment in Family Medicine and will provide geriatrics education to medical students and primary care residents. The incumbent will join a well-established staff and faculty with multidisciplinary resource support.

Minimum Requirements Licensed physician with resident training and Board Certification in Family Medicine and/or General Internal Medicine is required. State of Georgia Medical license and current American Heart Association BLS.

Preferred Qualifications Experience as a Medical Director in a clinical setting, preferably long-term care. Special training and a Certificate of Added Qualification in Geriatric Medicine and/or care of dementia as well as being credentialed as a Certified Medical Director (CMD).

About Us The GWVNH is a Joint Commission accredited facility providing skilled nursing care and rehabilitation services to chronically ill veterans of Georgia who have served in the armed forces during war times. It is owned and funded by the Georgia Department of Veterans Service and operated through an interagency agreement with Augusta University and the Board of Regents. In addition to the provision of quality patient care, GWVNH provides educational experience to students of the various colleges of Augusta University.
