The Department of Pathology at the Medical College of Georgia invites applications at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor for an individual with diagnostic and administrative skills for a full time faculty position in the Section of Clinical Pathology. This individual will serve as Director of Medical Microbiology and Immunology Laboratory at AU Health and will be involved in resident and medical student teaching. The Pathology Department provides diagnostic clinical services to AU Medical Center, a 438-bed adult hospital and the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, a 127 bed children’s hospital. Additionally, the department provides services to the Georgia Cancer Center, facilitating the dynamic growth of innovative oncology programs. The Department offers a strong supportive research environment that is closely linked to successful centers in Cancer, Vascular Biology, and Biotechnology & Genomic Medicine.

Appointments will be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Salary will be based upon level of qualification, experience, and scholarly accomplishments. The institution offers a generous fringe benefit package and a productivity-based incentive plan.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should have an MD and/or PhD degree or equivalent, and have appropriate board certification, with significant fellowship/clinical experience in microbiology. The candidate must have demonstrated success in laboratory management, particularly in areas of Immunology and Microbiology. MD/clinical pathologist candidates will also provide cross-coverage and share call with other sections of clinical pathology. Georgia medical license and/or Laboratory Director License from the Georgia Department of Health is required. Applicants should preferably have involvement in research and academic productivity.
