Minimum Requirements Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research.
OR
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years' research and/or clinical experience; previous supervisory experience.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to maintain confidentialityCompetency in research techniquesWillingness and ability to work with research animalsExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Office and other computer software/databasesEnergetic, highly organized and ability to work with minimal supervision after trainingPreferred Qualifications
  • Previous laboratory experience, especially with skills in cell culture, animal management and basic molecular biology (e.g. plasmid construction, Western blot, Flow analysis).
  • Experience in maintaining and running complicated laboratory systems; in a cell biology or biochemistry laboratory; and experience ad a research assistant, technician or lab manager.
Responsibilities This position involves participation in laboratory experiments to assist an NIH funded research project aimed at developing innovative anticancer regimens. The project involves testing different drug efficacy among cancer cell lines, gene functions and generating different animal models. The duties include, but are not limited to:
    General Lab Duties: Preparation of solutions, maintenance of tissue cultures, plasmid preparations, gel electrophoreses, laboratory stocks maintenance, experiment analyzation and preparation for publication/presentation performing experimental procedures under supervision of the PI.Carry out/assist with animal studies.Participate in projects and development of research protocols. Management of lab operations.Perform all other related duties/tasks as assigned.
