Job Information
With expanding programs and financial stability, the Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior at Augusta University now seeks a licensed psychologist to lead the expansion of the public psychiatry partnership with the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. Positions will manage clinical care at East Central Regional Hospital-Augusta (located only five miles from the medical school campus), an Augusta University teaching facility with a 90-bed psychiatric facility, 71 forensic beds and a developmental disabilities facility caring for over 100 individuals. Positions will enhance teaching throughout the department by expanding the Augusta University presence and enhancing core didactic and residency practical instruction in psychiatry and psychology.
Candidates will also be expected to contribute to activities related to public policy and regulation of psychology in the state of Georgia. A detailed description of the department structure, programs, research and education is provided on the departmental website. The successful candidate will be approved to the academic faculty at Augusta University at a rank commensurate with experience and previous academic achievements.
All candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review. For specific positions, the final candidate may be subject to a (pre-employment) physical, drug screen, and/or credit check.
The final candidate will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.
