Minimum Requirements Ph.D. or equivalent from an accredited college or university.Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Strong organizational and prioritization skillsFamiliarity with research regulations and protocolsExcellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databasesSelf-motivated with the ability to maintain confidentiality and work independentlyResponsibilities This position participates in research data collection and documentation within relevant guidelines and protocols; develops and evaluates new research techniques and procedures; published results in scientific journals; performs a variety of complex procedures as assigned; performs clinical supervision to interns; and is a CBL facilitator for the medical school and a lecturer to medical students and psychiatry residents. The duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Participates in project planning and development of research protocols while ensuring adherence to accepted scientific research principles and compliance with relevant federal guidelines
  • Analyze results of experiments and procedures using manual or computer techniques and if necessary, develop special computer programs to facilitate analysis. Teach and participate in complex procedures
  • Coordinate and participate in research of scientific literature; summarize and evaluate findings; develop derivative applications of techniques developed by own research activities or reported by other research projects. Present findings at scientific meetings locally, nationally, and internationally
  • Compose articles for publication in scientific journals; review articles prepared by others
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of students, graduate assistants, and other research personnel engaged in research activities. Advise principal investigators, other postdoctoral fellows, students, and other research personnel on research techniques, procedures, and other technological aspects of research activities
  • Clinical supervision to interns in the HIV clinic; HIV provider at the county health department, multiple MCG clinics (infectious disease, oncology, outpatient psychiatry, HIV/LGBTQ clinic, etc.); treatment to pediatrics and other populations as needed
  • CBL facilitator for the medical school; lecturer to medical students (year 1 and year 2); lecturer for psychiatry residents
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
