Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED, GCIC operator certified, TAC certification or abiltiy to obtain within one year, APCO certificaiton or the ability to obtain within one year, 3 years dispatch experience in a university or medical center setting , current basic first aid/CPR training.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Demonstrated creativity and innovationAbility to travel and maintain confidentialityExperience in developing and managing a budgetAbility to organize and coordinate resources, projects and timelinesExcellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal/collaboration and analytical skillsProficiency with common social media platforms and basic web editing/publishing tasksExperience in Microsoft Word, Excel, ARMS, business software and other computer software/databasesKnowledge and experience in planning and implementing marketing/communication campaigns and general office proceduresPreferred Qualifications

Knowledge of Federal Communications Rules and Regulations.

GA Post Certification a plus.

Advanced dispatch/911 experience, ICS/NIMS training,

3 year's experience as a dispatch manager/supervisor

Responsibilities The Augusta University Police Emergency Communications Center Supervisor is responsible for leading, coaching, mentoring, teaching, training and providing guidance to all communication employees who work in the 24/7 Emergency Communications Center supporting Augusta University and Augusta University Health. The person in this role also provides oversight of the communications center operations to include report generation, schedule development, performance appraisals and technological improvements. The incumbent promotes the advancement of the department's mission, vision and values through a customer focused atmosphere dedicated to excellence in operational efficiency. This position reports directly to the Captain of Administration.The duties include, but are not limited to:
    Supervise the daily operations of all communication employees by coordinating work schedules, training, coaching, mentoring, and providing guidance using a customer service focused approachProvides oversight of the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) software and other systems housed within the Emergency Communications Center. Makes recommendations for the continuous improvement on the communication center's workflow. Performs regular monitoring/testing of all these communications systemsInvestigate, resolve and document all shift related complaints in a timely manner according to policyOversight of all Jaguar Alert emergency notifications that are broadcast from the communications center. Coordinate with CEPAR for Jaguar Alert training and ICS/NIMS event planning as it relates to the Emergency Communications CenterPerform all duties and training required as a Terminal Agency Coordinator. (TAC) Ensure all communications officers are properly trained in the use of and entering data into GCIC operations system. Maintain communication with GCIC to ensure proper oversight and integrity of the GCIC/NCIC systemProvide a range of dispatch services to AU community with respect to departmental objectives centered on community oriented policing. (I.E. development and maintenance of an afterhours access roster for student access.)Monitor weather alert radio, dispatch email and other systems for requests, events and/or other emergency events or traffic related to AURegularly attend internal and external CAD and 911 meetings and or trainings as necessaryPerform all other related duties/tasks as assigned

Pay Grade: 13

Salary: $ 16.19

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
