GENERAL DUTIES:

A Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Also, directs and guides patient teaching, nursing activities and ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Works with physicians to ensure good patient outcome.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervises daily clinic activities
  • Assigns duties for 3 RN’s, 5 LPN’s, and 3 clerks for approximately 25-30 clinics per week.
  • Monthly schedule of clinic staff.
  • Assists with specialty clinics as needed.
  • Yearly assignments for mandatory Security and Nursing classes.
  • Yearly and Mid-Year Evaluations for 2 State Employees, and 11 AU employees[MC1] .
  • Maintains the Intrasystem Transfer Tracking Log
  • Orders prescription eyeglasses for all inmates at ASMP.
  • Orders soft shoes for all inmates ASMP and maintains a copy of approved shoe consults.
  • Orders soap and lotion for medically approved inmates.
  • Orders supplies for Specialty Clinics not carried by Central Supply.
  • Podiatry items to include post-op shoes, diabetic wedge shoes, occupational, biogel, and replacement insoles, pressure relief and rehab shoes, cork and glue.
  • Orthopedic knee, ankle, and wrist braces, casting and splinting materials.
  • Oncology Bone Marrow Biopsy trays
  • Dermatology biopsy accupunch, curettes, and replacement tips
  • ENT various curettes, picks, and suction catheters
  • Pulmonary Thoracentesis Paracentesis Trays
  • Bulbs for overhead exam lights, gooseneck lamps, retinascope, otoscope, and ophthalmascope
  • Disposable staplers for lacerations
  • Suture material for Urgent/Emergent room
  • Disposable cautery instruments
  • Replacement instruments for suture sets and chalazion sets
  • Hernia Aids
  • Sunglasses
  • Wheelchair Gloves
  • White cotton gloves
  • Specialty catheters for Urology Clinic
  • Obtain Monthly stats for Physicians, PA’s, and Sick Call
  • Monthly Master Calendar showing all clinics, exam rooms, physician, nurse, contacted number of patients, stop and start times
  • Approve or deny copay appeals

    Shift: Full-Time

    Pay Grade: 18

    Minimum Salary: $48,341 - $65,260

    Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
