Minimum Requirements Master's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and two years' of experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory, particularly clinical trial research
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned with a minimum of five years' research and/or clinical experience; previous supervisory experience Departmental Requirements - Knowledge, Abilities, Skills Excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skillsCompetency in Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint, EndNote, or willingness to learnStrong work ethic and desire to learnMust be highly motivated and detail-orientedAbility to work independently; prioritize tasks; complete work and meet deadlines; make responsible decisions; maintain confidentialityWillingness and ability to work with research animals Preferred Research background in copper transport; cell culture and animal experience Responsibilities The duties include, but are not limited to: management of mouse colonies including breeding, genotyping and maintaining an updated inventory of animals; assist in phenotypic analyses of the mouse mutants; manage cell culture program including experiments, supplies, incubators, rooms, and train new staff on methods; plasmid amplification and management of standard laboratory assays, DNA/RNA Protein Extraction, western blot, PCR mutagenesis, qRT-PCR, ELISA, Luciferase Reporter Assay, Immunoprecipitation, confocal microscopy, immunohistochemistry, and Electric Cell-substrate Impedance Sensing Measurements; participate in project planning and development of research protocols; coordinate and participate in research of scientific literature, summarize findings, and develop new experimental approaches; statistical evaluation of research data using software, Graphpad and Sigmaplot; and other duties as assigned. Shift/Salary This position is supported by grant funds Shift: Days/M-F Pay Grade: R14 Minimum Salary: $47,476/Annual Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position Recruitment Period: 8/14/18 - Until Filled Conditions of Employment All candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.
