The positions may cover any area, from molecular and cellular to systems neuroscience. Applicants with expertise in glial neurobiology, in vivo imaging and electrophysiology, and epigenetics are particularly encouraged to apply. Department faculty have access to excellent core facilities for multiphoton/confocal and electron microscopy, small animal behavior and imaging, and genomics and proteomics. Our department is also the home to the Transgenic and Genome Editing Core and the Viral Vector Core. The Department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine is charged with conducting high-impact original biomedical research and translating the findings to clinical applications, and in educating future physicians and researchers. Our research addresses fundamental questions in cell and developmental biology, endocrinology, neuroscience, regenerative medicine, and cancer biology. Collaborations have been established with clinical departments for studies that investigate various diseases including neurological diseases (stroke, epilepsy, muscular dystrophy, and Guillain-Barre syndrome); psychiatric disorders (schizophrenia and autism); degenerative diseases (osteoporosis); cancer; and endocrinological disorders.Minimum Requirements
Candidates must hold an MD, PhD, or both, and are expected to have or establish a cutting edge extramurally funded research program, and may participate in teaching medical and graduate students.Conditions of Employment All candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review.
